From the answers
For a small marketing agency managing multiple clients, tracking brand recommendations across LLMs like ChatGPT falls under AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) or GEO (Generative Engine Optimization). Zapier +1 Because client budgets and agency overhead require a balance between depth and multi-client affordability, several standout tools fit different agency workflows: Otterly.AI — Best for budget-conscious small agencies. Starting at around $29/month, it tracks brand visibility, sentiment, and competitor mentions cleanly across major AI platforms without inflating your overhead. Zapier HubSpot AEO Software — Best if you are already in the HubSpot ecosystem. Priced accessibly (around $50/month) with prompt tracking, visibility scores, and sentiment analysis tailored for ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity. HubSpot Rankscale — Best for multi-client scaling. It tracks across 17+ engines (including ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity) from a single agency dashboard with clear multi-brand capabilities and technical checkpoints. Rankscale Semrush (AI Toolkit / Add-on) — Best if you already rely on Semrush for traditional SEO. It offers a convenient paid add-on to stitch AI platform tracking directly into your existing keyword and ranking workflows. Zapier +1 When evaluating these for your agency, look for query discovery (does the tool suggest what unbranded prompts people actually use to find your clients?) and multi-engine coverage (ChatGPT often recommends entirely different brands than Gemini or Perplexity for the exact same prompt). If you'd like to narrow this down, tell me: What is your monthly software budget per client or for the agency overall? Do you need white-labeled client reporting built into the platform?

For a small marketing agency managing multiple clients, tracking Generative Engine Optimization (GEO)—specifically how often ChatGPT and other AI engines recommend a brand—requires specialized tools that monitor prompt responses, share of voice, and cited sources. Zapier +1 Because AI answers are personalized and shift over time, manual checking doesn't scale. Several dedicated platforms and built-in options fit an agency workflow: Reddit · r/AI_Agents Top Dedicated AI Visibility Tools OtterlyAI — Great for smaller budgets, with multi-engine tracking starting at an affordable price point ($29/mo). Peec AI — Offers smart suggestions and robust tracking across major conversational engines, starting around $95/mo. ZipTie — Excellent for deep analysis and client-ready reporting features, priced around $36/mo. Profound or Siftly — Specialized platforms built specifically to track mention rates, answer positions, sentiment, and the underlying source citations ChatGPT pulls from. Siftly +1 Alternative Agency Approaches Existing SEO Suites: If you already pay for enterprise tools like Semrush or Ahrefs, check their newer bundled AI-visibility and brand radar modules first. They might cover your baseline tracking needs without adding a brand-new software subscription to your agency overhead. Reddit · r/AI_Agents The DIY Cron Job: If your agency has light technical resources, you can build a lightweight tracker using a scheduled script that queries the OpenAI API against a fixed panel of 30–50 buyer-intent prompts weekly, logging mention status and cited URLs for pennies. Reddit · r/AI_Agents To help narrow down the best fit, tell me: Are you looking for a budget-friendly entry tool or an agency-tier platform with white-label client reporting? Do you also need to track Google AI Overviews and Gemini, or is your focus strictly ChatGPT?

About this question
What's the best tool to track whether ChatGPT recommends my clients' brands if I run a small marketing agency?
Over the last four weeks, AI answers to this question named Otterly (48 of 56 answers), Peec AI (39 of 56 answers) and Semrush (32 of 56 answers) most often. That is how often a name shows up, not a ranking of quality.
How is this measured?
The question is asked as written each week in logged-out US sessions. A brand's figure is the share of this question's valid answers that name it, over a rolling four weeks. To see how AI answers treat your own brand, run the free AI visibility scan at agnostify.com/audit.
How we measure
Each question is asked as written, from a logged-out United States session on ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Mode.
How is a score calculated?
On a category board, the score is the share of every valid run across that category's questions that names the brand, over a rolling four weeks, with a 95% Wilson interval. Rows are ordered by the low end of that interval, so a brand named on one question cannot outrank one named across the category. A brand named in fewer than 10 runs, or on only one question, sits below the line as low confidence. On a question page the share is of that question's runs. Where a name sits in the answer is not a rank.
Which brands count where?
Names are matched to a reviewed brand list, and a brand counts only on questions in its own category. Names that are ordinary words, such as Streak, Loops and Instantly, count only when the answer clearly means the product. A CRM named as an integration in a meeting-notes answer is not a point on the meeting-notes board. A brand named in the question itself, as in “alternatives to Profound”, is not scored on that question, so those runs count neither for nor against it. A name that is not on the list stays off the board until a person adds it.
Will this match a signed-in chat?
A logged-out session has no memory and no personalization, so a signed-in person can see a different answer.
Cited pages are the sources that engine marked as citations, not every link in the raw response.
