Service details
Think of us as an AI strategy consultant who can also do the work. We help you decide where AI fits in your business and where it does not, which tools to use, and whether a problem is worth building for at all. On our Services page this is AI & Technical Consulting. Because we build too, the advice comes from what it takes to ship and run it.
What the service covers
Where AI fits in your business, and where it does not
Build-vs-buy decisions, with the tradeoffs laid out
Tool and vendor choices for the systems you already use
Architecture for anything worth building
Research and fit questions, with the scope agreed in writing
Hands-on unblocking when a project or tool is stuck

What that can look like
+
One decision, from question to next step.
For example, a team pays for three AI tools that overlap and still copies data between them by hand. In a few consulting hours we map what each tool does, compare keeping, replacing or connecting them, and recommend one path with its cost.
If the answer is a build, it is quoted separately. If it is not, you spent a few hours finding that out instead of a project budget.
Is this the right fit?
+
Where it helps, and when to start elsewhere.
When it fits
You have a decision ahead: which AI tools to use, whether to build something custom, or why a project has stalled. By the hour suits one question. The monthly block suits a steady run of them.
When to start elsewhere
If you already know the task you want automated, go straight to workflow automation. If you want one costly task measured first, start with the AI readiness assessment.
How we work together
+
Question, research, recommendation, next step.
Four steps: agree the question, research the options, walk you through the recommendation, then scope the next step if there is one.
Agree the question, and the scope of any research work in writing.
Research the options, tools and costs.
Walk you through the recommendation and its tradeoffs.
If something is worth building, scope and quote it separately.
Five answers: what it costs, how the monthly block works, whether we build what we recommend (as separate work), who it suits, and how it differs from the AI readiness assessment.
What does AI strategy consulting cost?
$250 per hour, or $4,000 per month for a reserved block of 16 hours. The scope and deliverables for research work are agreed in writing.
How does the monthly block work?
You reserve 16 hours with the founders each month for $4,000. The block stays limited to 16 hours a month.
Do you build what you recommend?
We can, as separate work. Builds like workflow automation and AI assistants are scoped and priced on their own, so the advice stands whether or not you hire us to build. Sometimes the advice is not to build at all.
Is this AI consulting for small businesses?
Yes. Our published rates are for a company of 1 to 20 people. For a larger company, the price is agreed in writing before work starts.
How is this different from the AI readiness assessment?
The AI readiness assessment is a fixed $2,500 engagement that measures one costly, repetitive workflow and recommends whether to automate it, redesign it, or keep a person on it. Consulting is time for the wider decisions: tools, architecture, and what to build or buy.
Start with the right scope.
The first call is free. A paid spend check, audit or teardown gets you a written report on what we found and what to do next; building the fix or running it for you is a separate job. We agree the next step before you pay for it.
