From the answers
The "best" social media reporting tool for an agency depends heavily on your agency's size, budget, and whether you prefer live dashboards or scheduled visual reports. Storyflow The top-rated reporting platforms tailored specifically for agency workflows break down as follows: AgencyAnalytics — Best Overall for Multi-Client Agencies Built from the ground up for agencies managing 10+ clients. It offers robust white-labeling (your agency branding/domain), automated scheduling, and deep integrations across social media, SEO, and PPC channels so you can pull everything into a single report. Databox +1 Databox — Best for Live Dashboards and Goal Tracking Excellent if your clients want real-time visibility rather than just a static monthly PDF. It features goal-tracking metrics, an AI-powered assistant ("Genie") to flag performance anomalies, and smooth, responsive live dashboards. Databox +1 Whatagraph — Best for Stunning, Visual Reports If your client meetings hinge on sleek aesthetics and clean data visualization, Whatagraph is a standout. It turns messy cross-channel metrics into highly polished, presentation-ready performance reports with minimal formatting required. Storyflow DashThis — Best for Simplicity and Speed A favorite for budget-conscious or fast-moving teams that want a straightforward, automated monthly reporting setup. It doesn't overcomplicate things with heavy data modeling—just fast template creation and reliable data pulling. Databox +1 Sprout Social — Best Enterprise-Grade Social Analytics If your reporting needs go hand-in-hand with heavy community management, social listening, and publishing workflows, Sprout is the gold standard for depth. Its native presentation-ready reports are comprehensive, though the per-seat pricing gets steep for large teams. Looker Studio (formerly Google Data Studio) — Best Free/Flexible Option Completely free at its core, making it unbeatable on price if you have the internal resources to build and customize templates

For an agency, the "best" reporting tool depends on whether you want an all-in-one management suite (where scheduling and publishing live next to analytics) or a dedicated reporting/dashboard platform (which pulls social data alongside SEO, PPC, and web analytics into a white-labeled client portal). The top-rated tools used by agencies are categorized below by their strengths: 1. Best Dedicated Reporting & White-Label Dashboards If your agency manages multi-channel marketing (social + ads + SEO) and you want automated, gorgeous, branded PDF reports or live client dashboards, these are the industry gold standards: AgencyAnalytics: Built specifically for agencies. It features powerful white-labeling, automated scheduled reports, and native integrations with every major social network, ad platform, and SEO tool. Databox: Excellent for turning raw social data into visual narratives. Databox lets you pull metrics from multiple sources, set custom KPI goals for clients, and build clean mobile-friendly dashboards. Whatagraph / DashThis: Great alternatives if you prioritize absolute visual polish with minimal setup time. Their pre-built agency templates save hours of manual design work each month. 2. Best All-in-One Social Management with Client-Ready Analytics If you prefer a single platform where your team handles publishing, community management and pulls reports without switching apps: Sprout Social: Widely considered the gold standard for enterprise and mid-market social analytics. It offers deep cross-channel performance reports, competitor benchmarking, and presentation-ready PDF layouts that require zero extra formatting. The catch: It is expensive and priced per seat. Agorapulse Metricool: A massive agency favorite for being budget-friendly while offering robust, highly detailed analytics, competitor tracking, and automated white-label PDF reports. It punches way above its price point. Agorapulse: Highly praised for reliable data, clean aesthetic layouts, and stron

When choosing the "best" client reporting tool for an agency, the right pick depends entirely on whether you want an all-in-one social management suite that includes reporting or a dedicated multi-channel reporting platform that pulls in social data alongside SEO and PPC. Agorapulse The top-rated tools on the market are organized below by agency use case: AgencyAnalytics: Best overall for multi-channel marketing agencies. It features drag-and-drop report builders, complete white-labeling (your agency’s logo and domain), automated scheduling, and native integrations with every major social network, SEO tool, and PPC platform. Sprout Social: Best all-in-one social media management tool with elite, presentation-ready analytics. If your agency handles heavy community management, publishing, and social listening alongside reporting, Sprout’s cross-channel analytics require virtually zero extra formatting before dropping them into a client meeting. Agorapulse Databox: Best for live, executive-ready dashboards and turning numbers into a narrative. It offers robust data-connector stability, custom metric calculations, and automated performance summaries that save hours of manual prep work each month. DashThis: Best for fast, streamlined, and simple dashboard creation. It is heavily praised by smaller agencies that want to set up automated, visually appealing reports quickly without getting bogged down by complex enterprise features. Hootsuite: Best for large-scale enterprise agencies. It handles massive multi-client portfolios, complex approval workflows for content compliance, and deeply customizable scheduled reporting. If you'd like to narrow this down, let me know: Do you need to report strictly on social media, or a full marketing mix (SEO, PPC, email)? Do you prefer automated scheduled PDFs/emails or live, interactive client dashboards?

About this question
Which social media tool makes the best client reports for an agency?
Over the last four weeks, AI answers to this question named Sprout Social (53 of 58 answers), Metricool (42 of 58 answers) and Hootsuite (19 of 58 answers) most often. That is how often a name shows up, not a ranking of quality.
How is this measured?
The question is asked as written each week in logged-out US sessions. A brand's figure is the share of this question's valid answers that name it, over a rolling four weeks. To see how AI answers treat your own brand, run the free AI visibility scan at agnostify.com/audit.
How we measure
Each question is asked as written, from a logged-out United States session on ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Mode.
How is a score calculated?
On a category board, the score is the share of every valid run across that category's questions that names the brand, over a rolling four weeks, with a 95% Wilson interval. Rows are ordered by the low end of that interval, so a brand named on one question cannot outrank one named across the category. A brand named in fewer than 10 runs, or on only one question, sits below the line as low confidence. On a question page the share is of that question's runs. Where a name sits in the answer is not a rank.
Which brands count where?
Names are matched to a reviewed brand list, and a brand counts only on questions in its own category. Names that are ordinary words, such as Streak, Loops and Instantly, count only when the answer clearly means the product. A CRM named as an integration in a meeting-notes answer is not a point on the meeting-notes board. A brand named in the question itself, as in “alternatives to Profound”, is not scored on that question, so those runs count neither for nor against it. A name that is not on the list stays off the board until a person adds it.
Will this match a signed-in chat?
A logged-out session has no memory and no personalization, so a signed-in person can see a different answer.
Cited pages are the sources that engine marked as citations, not every link in the raw response.
