From the answers
If your primary goal is to make money from sponsors and ads, Beehiiv stands out as the best overall platform. However, how you plan to land those sponsors changes which platform fits best. Reddit · r/Emailmarketing +1 The top platforms for sponsor-driven newsletters compare as follows: Beehiiv — Best for built-in ad networks and scaling ad revenue. Why it wins for sponsors: It features a built-in Ad Network that connects newsletter operators directly with major brands. Instead of doing all the cold outreach yourself, you can source and insert sponsored content seamlessly. It also includes referral programs, Boosts (earning money by recommending other newsletters), and advanced analytics to prove your value to external sponsors. Pricing: Robust free tier, with paid plans starting around $49/month to unlock full monetization and growth features. Circle +2 Kit (formerly ConvertKit) — Best if you want deep custom sponsor integration and digital products. Why it wins for sponsors: Kit doesn't have an automated native ad network like Beehiiv, but it is unmatched in tagging, segmentation, and automation. This lets you target specific sponsored placements or custom ad copy to precise segments of your audience (e.g., sending a tech sponsor only to subscribers who clicked a tech link previously), which commands higher sponsor rates. Pricing: Free tier available; creator plans start around $29/to $39/month. Authentic Marketer +2 Substack — Best for paid subscriptions, weaker for direct sponsorships. Why it ranks lower for sponsors: Substack is built heavily around reader-paid subscriptions (taking a 10% cut of that revenue) rather than brand ads. It lacks native ad-insertion tools or built-in sponsor marketplaces, meaning 100% of your sponsor outreach, invoicing, and tracking has to be done manually outside the platform. Pricing: Free to use, but takes 10% of paid subscription revenue. www.tryletterhead.com +2 To help narrow down the right choice, tell me: What is your expecte

When your primary goal is making money from sponsorships and ads, traditional email marketing tools (like Mailchimp or Flodesk) aren't built for the job. You want a platform designed specifically for newsletter-first media businesses that helps you grow an audience and monetize via built-in ad networks or direct sponsorships. Circle The top options on the market depend on how you plan to land those sponsors: beehiiv: Best overall for ad-driven monetization. Co-founded by the early team behind Morning Brew, beehiiv was built from the ground up for growth and scale. It features a native ad network that connects you directly with brands (meaning you don't always have to hunt for sponsors yourself), plus powerful built-in referral and recommendation programs to scale your subscriber count. They also famously take $0 cut of your ad or subscription revenue. Circle Kit (formerly ConvertKit): Best for creator monetization and the Kit Sponsor Network. Kit is tailored heavily for independent creators. If you cross the threshold into a larger list size (typically around 10,000+ subscribers), their Sponsor Network can completely take the friction out of the process by sourcing, managing, and fulfilling newsletter sponsorships for you. Ecommerce Paradise Substack: Best for simplicity and organic discovery. While Substack focuses heavily on paid reader subscriptions (taking a 10% cut) rather than having a built-in ad network, its massive network effect and discovery engine (like Substack Notes and recommendations) make it easy to scale an audience. Many creators on Substack secure their own sponsors or use external ad brokers like Paved to monetize their inventory. If your primary goal is to make money from sponsors and ads, beehiiv is widely considered the best overall platform for the job. SendFox The Top Contenders for Sponsorship Revenue beehiiv – Best for Ads and Sponsorships. Why it wins: It was built specifically with media businesses and ad-driven newsletters in mind. It features a built-in Ad Network that lets you easily source and plug sponsorships into your emails once you hit subscriber milestones (typically around 1,000+ subscribers). They also charge 0% platform fees on your own direct sponsorships or paid tiers, meaning what you negotiate with a brand is 100% yours. Pricing: Free tier up to 2,500 subscribers; paid "Scale" tiers unlock the ad network and advanced features starting around $43–$49/month (depending on billing cycle). OneLittleWeb +2 Kit (formerly ConvertKit) – Best for High-Value, Niche B2B Sponsors. Why it works: Kit doesn't have a massive native plug-and-play ad marketplace like beehiiv, but it is unmatched in tagging and subscriber segmentation. If you have a highly specialized B2B or technical newsletter, Kit lets you segment your audience precisely. You can then pitch high-ticket sponsors by proving exactly which sub-niche of your audience (e.g., software engineers vs. engineering managers) will see their ad. Pricing: Free tier available; creator plans scale based on features and list size. OneLittleWeb +2 Substack – Best for Paid Subscriptions, Worst for Sponsors. Why to skip for sponsorships: Substack is fantastic if you want to make money via reader-funded monthly subscriptions, but they lack native ad networks for sponsorships. Furthermore, if you use their paid infrastructure, they take a 10% cut of your revenue. For direct sponsors you find yourself, they don't block you, but the platform offers zero native tooling to automate or optimize ad placements. About this question
What's the best newsletter platform if I want to make money from sponsors?
Over the last four weeks, AI answers to this question named beehiiv (60 of 60 answers), Substack (60 of 60 answers) and Kit (59 of 60 answers) most often. That is how often a name shows up, not a ranking of quality.
How is this measured?
The question is asked as written each week in logged-out US sessions. A brand's figure is the share of this question's valid answers that name it, over a rolling four weeks. To see how AI answers treat your own brand, run the free AI visibility scan at agnostify.com/audit.
How we measure
Each question is asked as written, from a logged-out United States session on ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Mode.
How is a score calculated?
On a category board, the score is the share of every valid run across that category's questions that names the brand, over a rolling four weeks, with a 95% Wilson interval. Rows are ordered by the low end of that interval, so a brand named on one question cannot outrank one named across the category. A brand named in fewer than 10 runs, or on only one question, sits below the line as low confidence. On a question page the share is of that question's runs. Where a name sits in the answer is not a rank.
Which brands count where?
Names are matched to a reviewed brand list, and a brand counts only on questions in its own category. Names that are ordinary words, such as Streak, Loops and Instantly, count only when the answer clearly means the product. A CRM named as an integration in a meeting-notes answer is not a point on the meeting-notes board. A brand named in the question itself, as in “alternatives to Profound”, is not scored on that question, so those runs count neither for nor against it. A name that is not on the list stays off the board until a person adds it.
Will this match a signed-in chat?
A logged-out session has no memory and no personalization, so a signed-in person can see a different answer.
Cited pages are the sources that engine marked as citations, not every link in the raw response.
