From the answers
If you are a solo consultant who loathes admin work, traditional enterprise CRMs (like Salesforce or a bloated HubSpot setup) will feel like a second, unpaid job. You don't need a database that requires data-entry gymnastics; you need a tool that stays entirely out of your way and remembers who to follow up with. The absolute simplest, lowest-friction options tailored for a solo operator depend on where you already spend your workday: Less Annoying CRM is the gold standard for radical simplicity. It was specifically built for small businesses that hate complicated software. There are no multi-tiered enterprise pipelines or confusing custom fields unless you want them. It gives you a single, clean page per client showing contact info, notes, and a calendar/next-step reminder. DelveAnt +1 Streak is best if you live inside your inbox. It turns your Gmail (or Google Workspace) directly into a CRM. There is zero switching tabs or logging data manually—your pipeline lives right alongside your emails, and it tracks when people open your messages automatically. onesuite.io +1 Bigin by Zoho is ideal if you want a visual pipeline (drag-and-drop deals from "Lead" to "Proposal Sent" to "Won") without the overwhelming maze of standard Zoho CRM. It takes about 10 minutes to set up and looks friendly rather than corporate. DelveAnt +1 OnePageCRM is built entirely around "action-driven" selling. Instead of treating your contacts like a static database, it forces every single contact to have a "Next Action" date. Your entire dashboard just looks like a daily to-do list of who to email or call, completely eliminating passive data-poking. onesuite.io Apple Contacts / Google Contacts + a spreadsheet is technically the ultimate minimalist CRM if you have fewer than 50 active high-value clients. Sometimes, adding a new software tool is more admin work than a simple, pinned Notes file or minimalist Google Sheet. To help narrow down the best fit, tell me: Do you live primarily in Gmail/Goo

If you are a solo consultant who hates admin work, the best CRM is the one you don't have to update manually. Heavy enterprise tools like HubSpot or Salesforce will drain your soul with data entry. The top low-friction options depend entirely on where you already spend your workday: Streak (Best if you live in Gmail): It turns your Gmail inbox directly into a visual pipeline. You track deals, view contact history, and set reminders without ever opening a separate tab or logging a call manually. Zero extra apps to check = zero admin fatigue. Copper (Best for Google Workspace purists): If you use Google Calendar, Gmail, and Google Drive, Copper auto-populates contact details, emails, and meetings straight from your existing ecosystem without you pasting a single thing. It feels like a natural extension of Google rather than a separate database. Salesflare (Best for automated data harvesting): It automatically pulls data from your emails, email signatures, company databases, phone, and calendar to build client timelines for you. It practically eliminates manual typing. Capsule CRM (Best ultra-minimalist): If you just want a clean, old-school list of people, notes, and a simple deal pipeline with zero aggressive marketing upsells or bloated features, Capsule stays completely out of your way. www.fastlancer.org If you'd like, let me know: Do you use Google Workspace (Gmail/Calendar) or Microsoft/Outlook? Do you prefer a tool that lives inside your inbox or a separate minimalist dashboard? I can help you pick the exact fit so you can stop doing data entry and get back to billing hours

If you are a solo consultant who hates admin work, the best CRM is the one you actually use, which means it has to require zero friction, no complex setup, and almost no manual data entry. Heavy enterprise tools like Salesforce or HubSpot will feel like a second job. Instead, look for tools that live where you already work (like your inbox) or function as an effortless digital Rolodex. Top minimalist options tailored for solo consultants who loathe administration: Copper: Best if you live inside Google Workspace (Gmail, Google Calendar). Copper automatically pulls in email threads, calendar events, and company details straight from your inbox with zero manual data entry. It feels like a natural extension of Gmail rather than a separate database. Folk: Best for a modern, super-clean interface. Folk handles relationship management like a streamlined, beautiful spreadsheet combined with CRM powers. You can sync your contacts, track deals in a clean pipeline, and send light email campaigns without wrestling with bloated menus. Reddit · r/CRM +1 Less Annoying CRM (LACRM): Best for radical simplicity. True to its name, it strips away all the confusing enterprise jargon, multi-tiered pipelines, and automation clutter. It gives you a straightforward place to track contacts, notes, and calendar tasks for a flat, predictable monthly price. Tympi: Best for ultra-lightweight pipeline tracking. Recommended by independent workers as a no-nonsense tool built strictly for single users, focusing heavily on forced follow-up dates and email reminders so leads don't slip through the cracks. Reddit · r/freelancing A Smart Spreadsheet (Notion or Airtable): If you already use Notion or Airtable for your business, building a basic contact and pipeline template is often simpler than forcing yourself to log into a dedicated CRM. It's infinitely customizable and costs $0 extra if you're already using them. To help narrow this down, tell me: Do you live in Gmail / Google Workspace or Outlook /

About this question
What's the simplest CRM for a solo consultant who hates admin work?
Over the last four weeks, AI answers to this question named HubSpot (48 of 60 answers), Less Annoying CRM (42 of 60 answers) and Streak (40 of 60 answers) most often. That is how often a name shows up, not a ranking of quality.
How is this measured?
The question is asked as written each week in logged-out US sessions. A brand's figure is the share of this question's valid answers that name it, over a rolling four weeks. To see how AI answers treat your own brand, run the free AI visibility scan at agnostify.com/audit.
How we measure
Each question is asked as written, from a logged-out United States session on ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Mode.
How is a score calculated?
On a category board, the score is the share of every valid run across that category's questions that names the brand, over a rolling four weeks, with a 95% Wilson interval. Rows are ordered by the low end of that interval, so a brand named on one question cannot outrank one named across the category. A brand named in fewer than 10 runs, or on only one question, sits below the line as low confidence. On a question page the share is of that question's runs. Where a name sits in the answer is not a rank.
Which brands count where?
Names are matched to a reviewed brand list, and a brand counts only on questions in its own category. Names that are ordinary words, such as Streak, Loops and Instantly, count only when the answer clearly means the product. A CRM named as an integration in a meeting-notes answer is not a point on the meeting-notes board. A brand named in the question itself, as in “alternatives to Profound”, is not scored on that question, so those runs count neither for nor against it. A name that is not on the list stays off the board until a person adds it.
Will this match a signed-in chat?
A logged-out session has no memory and no personalization, so a signed-in person can see a different answer.
Cited pages are the sources that engine marked as citations, not every link in the raw response.
